Obama Thinks Christianity is “Un-American?”

The Obama Administration decided to weigh in on a Florida church’s plan to hold a book burning.  Now it is not just any book burning, but it is burning the Quran.  Obama felt it necessary to let it be known that he supported the building of a mosque, which in an earlier post I stated my dismay for, but support for their right to do so.  It was a bad decision on the builders’ and planners’ part, but it is their right.  Obama was right when he stated that their freedom of religion allows them to build a mosque.

The Obama Administration will equally support the Dove World Outreach Center, right?  Apparently not.  A few administration officials have stated that it is a bad idea that may inflame hatred in the Muslim world and put our troops at danger.  I have no problem with that view.  It  is a bad idea.  It is an idea that comes from an ignorant pastor who obviously shepherds ignoramuses who will allow their pastor to do this.  It serves no purpose.  Christianity is about evangelism.  This will only cause people to be turned off.  I must, however, state that I am supportive of their right to do this.  This is a 1st Amendment issue.  They absolutely have a right to do this.  Obama, however, will not admit this.  Instead, an Obama official referred to this as “un-American.”  It is not un-American.  It is very much an American idea that you have the right to do deplorable things.

It was to be expected.  Obama has not been friendly to Christianity (though I am slow to think that this is true Christianity).  I have never heard him speak positive of it.  He seemingly goes out of his way to speak kindly of Islam.  This, his name, and his history in Indonesia have given rise to the idea that he is a Muslim.  I don’t think that he is.  I think the reason is more so that he feels that the Muslim world is very important to placate for his presidency.  In doing so, he has basically trashed Israel to gain support from the Muslim world.  Obviously, it is only getting worse for him.

He has also been slow to stand up for the Constitution.  He described it as negative liberties, and he only quotes it or refers to it to support his policies.  The Constitution is not a governing model for him, but a tool of convenience.
